About Daniel
Daniel is a consultant solicitor who has specialised in Private Client law for 18 years following his qualification as a solicitor. Daniel is STEP qualified and has a stellar reputation in the Private Client world having previously held partner level roles at top national law firms. Daniel advises clients in relation to their estate planning, and this in the main, focusses on their Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, the creation of lifetime trusts, Inheritance Tax planning and more. Daniel also acts for clients who lack mental capacity in relation to Deputyship applications and acts for executors of Wills in relation to Probate.
Daniel works with a mixture of clients to include those who own business or farming assets, entrepreneurs or have an international element. Daniel works closely with professional contacts to include accountants, financial advisors, mortgage brokers and more.
Daniel is passionate about transparent pricing and providing support at every stage of the relationship. Daniel prides himself on his ability to put clients at ease with his professional yet warm and welcoming approach. Daniel prides himself on providing clients with tailored and bespoke estate planning plans in a timely and considered manner.
Outside of work Daniel is a keen football supporter (AFC Bournemouth). Daniel is married to Laura, a partner at an Oxfordshire law firm, and has two young children called Amelie and Hugo. Prior to moving to Oxfordshire Daniel was raised in Poole, Dorset.

- Probate - Advising Executors (if there is a valid Will) on the requirements to obtain probate, the process involved and submitting the application. Daniel also acts for personal representatives acting under an ‘Intestacy’ (when there is no Will).

- Court of Protection - Advising family members in relation to applications to the Court of Protection in cases when someone lacks mental capacity to manage their affairs.
- Inheritance Tax Planning - Advising on all available exemptions and reliefs in both lifetime and upon death.
Legal Expertise in Practice
- Daniel acted for the sister of deceased client who died intestate (without a Will). Daniel ensured Will searches, asset searches were submitted and worked closely with a geology company to ensure that all beneficiaries entitled under the deceased’s intestacy were correctly accounted for.
- Daniel acted for a husband a wife when sadly the wife had a terminal illness. Daniel arranged for 10 rental properties held in joint names to be transferred to the wife during her lifetime. Following the wife’s sad death, the husband inherited the properties free of capital gains tax which were significant given the periods of ownership involved.
- Daniel acted for a family in connection with an unknown and underutilised IHT exemption relating to a war veteran. Sadly the veteran died of his injuries sustained during the war and consequently Daniel along with the family succeeded in obtaining a rebate of over £600,000 previously paid in Inheritance Tax.
- Daniel acted for a family in relation to the preparation of both their Wills and Trusts owing to a significant injection of wealth (following a bereavement) and restructured the inheritance with the use of a Deed of Variation to ensure a tax efficient wealth transfer to the next generation.
- Daniel acted for a family who had a severely disabled daughter in the creation of both their Will and Lasting Powers of Attorney to ensure that the daughter’s entitlement to means tested benefits would be preserved and to ensure that no significant sums passed to the vulnerable daughter who lacked mental capacity to manage her affairs.
- Daniel acts for clients who are purchasing property together and making unequal financial contributions. Daniel ensured that via Declaration of Trust there was no ambiguity or uncertainty in the event of separation.
