The Process

Our experts will meet with you either in person, telephone or teams to discuss your instruction and then proceed to drafting either your Will, Lasting Power of Attorney, Grant application or other relevant document.

This will be sent to you for checking and then once approved will be signed either in person or sent to you with instruction as to how to sign (in the presence of one / two witnesses etc). 

Throughout any process, our experts are encouraging of you to ask as many questions as you need so that a full understanding of the document is met before signing this.

FAQ

  • Do I need a Will?

    In short yes, even if you feel that the Intestacy Rules would satisfy your circumstances having a Will would make it easier for your family to administer your estate when the time arose.

  • Do I need a Lasting Power of Attorney? Can’t my spouse access my accounts anyway?

    They can, if the accounts are in joint names. If you have any sole accounts then even your spouse would not have access to them if you were to lose capacity. You might also find that they would be extremely helpful even when you still have capacity to make the relevant decisions yourself. For instance your attorneys could assist in settling bills or payments if you were to go abroad.

  • My aunt has died, do I need Grant of Probate?

    It is very dependant on the assets in the estate, you may well not need it if there is no property and cash in the bank below a certain threshold. Our experts are happy to provide a free 20 minute meeting to assess this and advise accordingly.
